Style Party Remarks
Balanced This is the party I run, it is pretty well balanced between Magic and Brute Srength. With the right skill choices, it should easily win the game.
Paladin A fighting machine with good healing magic. Though I find the Alchemist (Sorcerer) doing the primary healing work, another magic-user can't hurt.
Archer The Bow and the strong Elemental Magic skills compliment this party very well. His archery skills are actually more used (by me), but he gets in the occasional Lightning Bolt.
Thief Those thieving skills (Disarm Trap & Identify Item) are a must. Those are almost the sole mission of the Thief in my party.
Sorcerer Magic! Magic! Magic! There are none better than the Sorcerer in this department and he has carried many a fight for me.
Purist For you D&D guys who must stick to the basics. I haven't tried this group, but I think it will do pretty well. It is pretty well balanced and my own "Balanced" party is a vague variation on this one.
Knight A basic tank. No magic ability, but the purist won't leave home without it. In a pinch, you could substitue a Paladin (if your purist nature can take the strain).
Thief The sneak of the purist party, and you must have those thieving skills. Develop Disarm Trap and Dagger early. You're probably going to need some magic items, too.
Cleric Healing spells on the run. A must for any dungeon crawl and a requirement for any purist. Not the undead fighter of AD&D, but definitely the healer.
Sorcerer What purist could have any kind of party without a Sorcerer? Crank up those magic & Alchemy skills and start every combat with as much damage as possible.
Slasher This party is for those who like to solve all their problems with a big hammer. Problem? just crash through like a bunch of bulls in a particularly large china shop.
Paladin A fighting machine with excellent healing magic. With this party you will need to develop that healing magic! Quickly!
Knight A basic tank. No magic, but with the Hack & Slash party, you won't use it anyway. Get those armor and weapons skills developed early.
Ranger In this party, you'll need the Ranger. Push the theiving skills and fill in with gaps with the Ranger's diverse selection of skills.
Cleric Healing spells are a necessity for this party. Fortunately, the Cleric is a pretty good fighter and fits into this Hack & Slash style fairly well.
Scientist This party is for those who like to experiment. You'll have to be quick on your feet because this is not a very good starting team, but it will probably develop into a strong group by game's end.
Ranger In this party, you'll need the Ranger's diversity and Bow. Figure out the other characters' strengths and fill in the gaps with the Ranger.
Archer The Bow and the strong Elemental Magic skills will probably carry this party. Hit those offensive magic skills hard and Grandmaster in Bow quick.
Monk Develop him quick and he will contribute greatly to this group. If you go this route, you are probably going to want to take the path of evil so the Monk can cover those theiving skills.
Druid Without the beef, you're going to need the extra healing spells. Get the healing magic up and make sure you push the Alchemy, too.
Thinker If you enjoy the intellectual game, this is your party. Lots of Magic, but nobody who can take it on the chin; be really careful. It'll be a lot easier on you if you work it out with as little combat as possible.
Ranger For lack of a better character, the Ranger will have to be the physical anchor for this team. Get that Axe skill up quick and get his theiving skills developed, too.
Archer The Bow and strong Elemental Magic skills compliment this party very well. The Archer and Sorcerer make a potent combination that will probably carry this group.
Druid The magical diversity makes teh Druid a must for this party. Focus that healing magic, but don't forget the elemental magics. You're going to need it all.
Sorcerer You'll need all the punch the Sorcerer an give you. Develop his power magic quickly or you will not survive in the late game.
